Mishuk Ashraful Awal is an independent photographer with a special interest in Personal Documentary and Curating. To him, photography is a powerful tool of expressions. He is a photo activist and has organized, participated and served in a wide range of exhibitions and workshops to support and promote photography in Bangladesh. Currently he is a faculty member at the Department of Photography in Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and spending a lot of time in teaching. His work “Underground” showed underground sub-cultures in Bangladesh which is emphasized on global cultural influence on Bangladeshi youth which contradicts with their conservative society. His work has been featured in Nordic Light, Chobi Mela and Urban Youth Festival, published in different national and international publications such as Saudi Aramco World Magazine, Indian Architect and Builders Magazine etc. He currently is working on a research based personal project.
